The Boyle Ag. Society creates opportunities for enjoyment through participation and/ or spectator entertainment; to create opportunities that will benefit our communities near and far, economically through programs, workshops and meetings. The grounds, just a short distance out of town on Hwy 663, have been home to many events both non-Agricultural and Agricultural.
Outdoors and in the arena we have Activity Days such as calf penning, team roping, and, of course, our most popular and annual July Rodeo. Last year there were close to 400 contestants competing for the purse. Every year we include extras such as Wild Pony Rides, Wild Cow Milking Business Challenge, Ladies Calf Dressing Race, Children's Chicken Scramble and Greased Pig, Live Pony Carousel and 2 horse-drawn wagons to transport one around the grounds. All rodeos need a clown or two and we have not been the exception. Every year we introduce a new and exciting event for one year only.
This past year we introduced a Farmer's Market that we run from Mid-May to mid-October, once a week on Thursdays at the Senior's Drop-in Centre located in the town of Boyle along Hwy 663 right next to the Ice Arena.
As an active Agricultural Society, we have been offering courses geared towards Farm Safety (The Canadian Firearms Training Course and the upcoming Natural Horsemanship Training Clinic) as well as other training clinics. We have several more activities planned for the near future.
The Boyle & District Agricultural Society wish to extend a hearty invitation for you to join us this year as we celebrate the joining of rural and urban lifestyles.
