PARKLAND CONSERVATION FARM

Discover sustainable agriculture and education programs  taking place within 600 acres of senic cropland, pasture, Dense Nesting Cover (DNC) and native Aspen Parkland. It offers trails through agriculture and Aspen Parkland habitat with interpretive signs, an interpretive centre, picnic facilities, and more. The Agro-Environmental Education Program is available for learning groups year round and the Kid’s Country Club is provided for educational and fun activities in the summer. Year round special events include the Harvest Moon Party and Corn Roast in September and the Winter Wonderland Party on Family Day in February. Our latest attraction at the farm is the Corn Maze, fun for the whole family! Participate in the farm tours demonstrating sustainable agriculture. Crop and pasture walks with expert speakers occur weekly through July and August highlighting specific projects. Located east of Mundare on Hwy 16. PRAIRIE GARDENS & GREENHOUSES

At this award-winning attraction you will be inspired by the fragrance, color and the sounds of nature. At the garden centre find your plant selections in natural, informal settings. The quaint garden shop is stocked with garden decor, and seasonal delights. Come to the Flower Festival - Mother’s Day weekend, May 13 & 14. Take in the free gardening seminars and much more. Pick-Your-Own sun-ripened strawberries in July. Join us during the Country Soul Stroll on July 22 & 23, a county-wide event. Local farms and artisans display their wares on site for the Fairy Berry Festival, August 4, 5 & 6. Create memories at the Haunted Pumpkin  Festival open weekends, October 7 - 29. Make a scarecrow, shoot the pumpkin cannon or scream at the Haunted Farmhouse.

New for 2007 is “The Great Prairie CornMaze” (PDF). Prairie Gardens has teamed up with with Fantasyland Hotel, E-Z Air Helicopter Services and West Edmonton Mall this year to bringing the much anticipated seven acre cornfield maze. Opening at its annual Fairy Berry Festival, August 4, 5 and 6 will be a fun filled weekend at Prairie Gardens and Greenhouse, a family fun activity.  Located north of Bon Accord on Lily Lake Rd in Sturgeon County.

WILD ROSE TRAIL - JULY 19-21, 2007
 
A self-guided studio tour event of artists, artisans and ag-tourism businesses near Lloydminster.  From Kitscoty north to the Streamstown and Alcurve area.  Most are open by appointment year-round.  All are open July 19-21.  Visit www.kalynacountry.com/wildrosetrail.
