TOURISM MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

 
Ideal candidate will possess majority of skills required.
On the job training provided for the right candidate to fulfill position.
 
Job Description:
- Assist Marketing Manager with planning & implementing marketing campaigns & plans. (Including travel magazines, print media, tradeshows, website, etc.)
 
- Assist publisher & web master with magazine & website updating, writing, typesetting and design.
 
- Member services and communications, promote, sell, record, update and implement various tourism marketing programs to members, partners and clients.
 
- Manage and/or administer projects related to: Heritage & Culture, Arts & Ag-Tourism, Trails & Outdoor Adventures.
 
- Answer and fulfill call centre inquiries about local and regional travel.
 
- Attend and/or organize various tourism meetings & tradeshows and visit various Tourism Operators across the region and/or deliver Travel Guides where necessary.
 
- Assist with Accounts payable/receivable
 
- Misc. tourism administrative & marketing and related duties.
 
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of tourism, internet, marketing and sales.  Diploma or certificate in marketing, management or sales an asset.
 
- Knowledge of the Kalyna Country Tourism region and the rural economy an asset.
 
- Computer skills including Microsoft office, web browsing and basic Accounting programs.
 
- Multi-tasking, creative writing, thinking and communication skills by telephone, email and in person.
 
- Reliable transportation necessary.
 
- Closing Date: April 4 , 2008 or until suitable candidate is found.  Starting immediately 30 - 40 hrs/week, wage $17/hr.
