Dear Dine Kalyna Participants and Interested Parties,

Re: RFP Dine Kalyna

It has been decided by the Board of Directors for Kalyna Country that we put forth a Request for Proposal to all the municipalities within the Kalyna region to host our on-going Dine Kalyna.

By way of historical review; it was part of the original concept in the creation of Kalyna Country Ecomuseum 20 yrs ago; that one of the goals would be to host and circulate a food fair highlighting the unique offerings of Kalyna Country. The time was ripe in the Vegreville when the Ag – producers of this more immediate area came up with their version of this old idea and had the strength and determination to make it a reality in Vegreville in 2008. It is now the vision of the Board to return to the old idea and provide the opportunity to move Dine Kalyna to other communities so that they may enjoy the bounty of the entire region. Working within the bidding process on the RFP; Dine Kalyna may move or it may stay in Vegreville depending on the new host facilities and community involvement.

It is our sincere hope that our past producers, Chefs and patrons will join us to bring Dine Kalyna to other communities that they may enjoy the experience of Dine Kalyna. Dine Kalyna is a bringing together of people to celebrate the individual characters of the region through food, hard work and cooperation.

We offer this openly to encourage the cooperation of the entire region to work together to celebrate Kalyna Country as a whole to the entire region, and what is a celebration without good food and drink.
