Add to Calendar

A celebration of Alberta's vibrant Ukrainian community past and present, Ukrainian Day is co-hosted by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Alberta Provincial Council.

The day starts with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Friends of the Ukrainian Village Society, and church services in all three churches. The spotlight is then cast upon east central Alberta's centennial pioneer families with the unveiling of the newest plaques on the Centennial Pioneer Monument, and later, the centenary certificate presentation at the band shell stage. To obtain more information about the pioneer families being recognized on this day, please email AB-Ukraine.Genealogy@gov.ab.ca or call 780-431-2324.

Celebrate Alberta's vibrant art community at the Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA) Art Show and Sale. Browse a wonderful selection of Alberta Ukrainian artwork at the Red Barn / Silska Domiwka.

Family-friendly activities include a visit with costumed interpreters bringing Alberta's history to life, free horse drawn wagon rides, a children's craft tent, jumpy castle, and a scavenger hunt. Other activities include the Ukrainian Village food festival, village market, and musicians.

Come celebrate all things Ukrainian!
