During the first full weekend of July each year, the Vegreville Cultural Association brings Ukrainian Heritage to the community of Alberta and beyond. The annual Pysanka Festival is a celebration of Ukrainian arts, it features one of the largest Ukrainian dance competitions, in addition to dancing, performing artists also compete in singing, recitations, instruments and choral speech. The is also a variety of other activities including the pioneer demos, bread baking, and a working blacksmith.
