Family Adventures Weekend Experiences: Both days: EnerChi Massage and Wellness Centre from 9:30 am - 5:30 pm - check out the facility and services available and enjoy a "mini" treatment. Equine Wise Services: Demos of how Equine Assisted Learning benefits participants by developing self-awareness. Start times at 10:30, 1:00 & 3:00. Demos will be 30 minutes to an hour in length, it is recommended you watch the entire demo to get a clear understanding of the process. The demos are a hands-on experience with horses, donkeys and mules for adults only. There will also be opportunities for youngsters to get up close and personal, just not in the demos.

Description: Maple Park Farm is a greenhouse and garden centre that is filled to the brim with beautiful annual bedding plants and a stunning array of perennials!
In addition, they have a wonderful vegetable patch – their Crateful of Goodness program can provide you with a weekly supply of fresh veggies. Their country store is full of fresh baked pies and buns. They have at least six event dates that run throughout the year.
Family Adventure Weekend Experiences: The whole family will love the greenhouse and country store. You will be able to purchase greenhouse grown vegetables and salad greens. There will also be agricultural displays and games for the kids to enjoy.

Description: This is a beautiful 13 acre site surrounded by tall pines. The greenhouse sells annuals, perennials, shrubs, herbs and pots. As well, plans are afoot for 2 tilled gardens to grow and sell you the freshest veggies possible. Also attending at this site will be a Rhodiola rosea producer who will be able to tell you all about this hardy sedum and its marketing power. Something you should know: an additional service offered by The Flower Lady is that she will plant and maintain your flower garden. How’s that for a neat service!

Description: Brand new 18 hole Championship Golf Course and RV Park - currently under construction south of Ryley at the old historic Dodds Coal Mine site. The development of the course is considered a reclamation project of the original coal mine site and many of the coal mining themes are being integrated into the design. Set to open in 2011. Tours on the hour and open from 10 am - 4 pm. Free hotdogs and refreshments.

Viking Station Gallery, Arts Centre and Tea House

Description: The Viking Station was built in 1909 and used by CN until the 1970s. After standing empty for years a group of dedicated volunteers decided to restore the building to house an art centre. Through grants, private and corporate donations and countless volunteer hours the Station was moved back from the tracks and is used year round for classes and meetings. Viking is one of the few places that VIA Rail will stop at to pick up or drop off passengers if notified.
Adventure Weekend Experiences: The tea house and gallery will be open at the times noted below. Enjoy soup, sandwiches and desserts with hot and cold drinks. Visitors can also enjoy the Farm Fresh Produce and Craft Market which will be held in the station parking lot on Sunday, August 15. The kids will have a great time in the beautiful adjoining park and playground.

Come for a pasture walk and see and learn about tipi rings, buffalo trails and the buffalo jump. End the day with a BBQ on the buffalo jump. August 15 - Come and experience our nouveau beef and the meat from other great local producers at the Viking Train Station from 10 am - 4 pm.

Description: Sunrise Farm is a third generation certified organic farm raising poultry and hogs on pasture as well as a small herd of Angus, Galloway, Highland and Red Poll cattle. We emphasize stewardship in how we manage our farm. All water sources are fenced and 240 bird houses dot the landscape. Shelterbelts surround the farm and help to increase biodiversity.
