Strathcona County Museum & Archives located at 913 Ash Street (off Wye Road) in Sherwood Park showcases exhibits that portray Strathcona County’s natural and human history. Step back in time to experience life as it once was in pioneer-themed rooms including First Nations and special exhibits as well as old RCMP jail cells. Special tours with interpreters are available. Sherwood Park's Heritage Mile is a unique way to re-live Strathcona County in the early twentieth century-long before Sherwood Park even existed. Walk, bicycle, jog or drive “the mile” and see the historical Smeltzer House, Monument Park, Smyth Farm, and much more. You can tour the Heritage Mile from the Broadmoor Blvd traffic circle to Main Blvd in Sherwood Park. Enjoy the Heritage Parkway Trail System encompassing over 50 km in and around Sherwood Park. Nearby you can also take in the beauty, the wildlife and the trails in the Sherwood Park Natural Area just south of Sherwood Park on RR 231. Don’t miss the Sherwood Park Parade into Summer on Canada Day. For the theatre buff, Festival Place hosts numerous musical and dramatic performances throughout the year. It’s located on the beautifully landscaped, 27 acre Broadmoor Lake Park, which offers numerous summer and winter recreational activities, including a farmers market in operation every Wednesday from 5 pm - 8:30 pm (May 13 - Oct. 7). Nearby is the Kinsmen (Indoor Aquatic) Leisure Centre and next door is the Broadmoor Golf Course.
