Marwayne is located just 10 minutes north of the Yellowhead TransCanada Highway, at the intersection of Highways 45 and 897. It is a community of 570 friendly people proud of its small-town atmosphere. Stop and see the “Welcome Triangle” maintained completely by volunteers. The “Heritage” shrub, located in the triangle, was brought over from England by one of the original settlers in 1902 and was donated to the village.
You are invited to turn off Highway 897 into the downtown core, stop by for a coffee, visit the local shops, or have a meal at one of our restaurants. Check out the first concrete elevator built in Canada, the Cargill grain elevator. Marwayne is proud of its volunteers and strong community-minded citizens and aims to provide quality services to both residents and visitors.
For overnight or longer stays, Marwayne offers full service camping sites with power, showers, and a dumping station at the Chamber Park located at the arena.
Just 10 minutes north on Highway 897 is Jubilee Regional Park (Lea Park) where you can enjoy camping, golfing (grass greens), and fishing. The scenic view of Lea Park on the Vermilion and North Saskatchewan Rivers can be enjoyed from the viewing point atop of Snake Hill.
Plan on attending the annual Lea Park Rodeo on June 9, 10, and 11, 2011. The weekend includes a pancake breakfast and dance in the Marwayne arena.
Join us for our Scarecrow Festival June 7 through to the 11 in conjunction with the Marwayne Agricultural Fair in the Village of Marwayne on June 9, and various chamber-sponsored community activities during rodeo week.
This is an approximate location. Please contact the owner for exact directions.
