Tofield is home to nearly 1900 residents, and has a wide variety of businesses serving the surrounding area. Tofield has gained notoriety for the annual Beaverhill Lake Snow Goose Festival, and although the low water at the Lake has cancelled the festival, each spring birding enthusiasts are still drawn to admire the birding and wildlife opportunities at Beaverhill Lake and areas nearby.

 

The Beaverhill Lake Nature Centre located at 5020 - 48 Avenue, is an ideal place to begin your visit. The facility features numerous interpretive displays on the rich natural history of the area, and tourist information to assist in your further travels. The adjoining Tofield Museum features displays on the cultural history of Tofield and area and is a must see for all ages! The museum is open mid-May - September or by appointment. Looking for that “one of a kind” treasure then you've got to visit Busy B Bargains, second hand treasures abound or stop by R.G. Stewart Antiques: a must for collectors! Check out other unique businesses in Tofield, or treat yourselves at “Mom's Ice Cream Corral” a refreshing stop on hot summer days! While you're here enjoy a delicious meal, or enjoy the convenience of take-out from one of the several restaurants in Town.

 

We invite you to visit Tofield during annual events, beginning in April with the Spring Birding Activities. Other major events throughout the year include a Rodeo, Canada Day, this year's Centennial Celebrations, and Slo-Pitch tournament. Also this year in June, the Good Sam RV Club will be in Tofield for their Alberta Provincial Samboree. The Tofield Campground gives visitors a convenient location to stay - and for travelers, the option of three campgrounds nearby.
