The town of St. Paul lies in the middle of one of nature's best recreational playgrounds. Take advantage of the wide variety of activities and events that are offered in town and the surrounding county. Whether it is golfing, swimming, fishing or picnicking at our many lakes and campgrounds in the surrounding area, you'll be sure to enjoy yourself.

Enjoy a wide range of shopping opportunities in St. Paul. With two shopping malls, several strip malls and unique locally owned shops down Main Street; it will surely make your shopping experience an enjoyable one.

St. Paul is a very active community with many sporting events for the whole family to enjoy. With first class facilities, St. Paul is proud to host many provincial events. Soccer plays a large role with the St. Paul Soccer Field's, containing 14 fields. Hockey and baseball are also prominent sports with our two arenas and 10 baseball diamonds. If gold is your game you can enjoy 18 holes of golf at the St. Paul Golf Course, home to World Long Drive Champion Jamie Sadlowski. Also located in St. Paul are several tennis courts, a curling rink, a full sized outdoor running track, indoor aquatic centre, Skateboard Park and 14 area playgrounds.

St. Paul hosts numerous events including the Lakeland Rodeo Association Finals on the Labour Day weekend each year. Rodeo takes the town by storm as the whole community gets involved in the festivities.

With our roots running deep as an agricultural community, St. Paul is a proud hub of events supporting our strong agricultural background. Throughout the year the St. Paul Ag Corral plays host to a number of annual events including the High School Rodeo, Bull-a-Rama, and numerous 4-H events, among others.

St. Paul is home of the “World's First UFO Landing Pad” built in 1967 as a Canadian Centennial Project. The 130 tonne concrete landing pad was erected near the main entrance to the recreation grounds. In the spirit of the Canadian Centenary, the backstop of the landing pad was adorned with the map of Canada, formed from stones provided by each respective province. This backstop also houses a time capsule, which is scheduled to be unearthed in 2067. The 1990’s saw the addition of a Tourist Information Centre, a UFO interpretive display, which includes photos of alleged UFO’s, crop circles and other unexplained phenomena. The site has attracted visitors from around the world, such as Mother Theresa, Queen Elizabeth II and comedian Tom Green.

St. Paul has a unique multi-cultural flavor, settled primarily by French and Ukrainian immigrants in the early 1900’s. St. Paul has 4 Monuments commemorating cultural diversity - Ukrainian pioneers, Métis Nation, Aboriginal ancestry and the Irish community. For the complete history of the community, visit Musée - St. Paul Museum, showcasing the mission of St. Paul des-Métis, the coming of the homesteaders and agricultural history. In 2007 the historic Destrube House, located northeast of St. Paul was moved to the museum to become an additional attraction. The museum is currently fundraising to restore it to replicate pioneer family life in the 1920’s. The Destrube family was one of the areas early pioneers. The house will become an added tourism attraction in the community. Located at 5409 - 50 Ave., open daily July & Aug. 10 am - 4 pm. Call 780-645-5562.

Located west of St. Paul, stop into Saddle Lake to see the new Cree Indian metal sculpture. Visit the museum which showcases a sampling of traditional Cree artifacts and an impressive display of wildlife taxidermy. Plan to be at the Saddle Lake Pow-Wow in late June with a community feast, rodeo, chuck wagon races and more.
