The Town of Redwater is a vibrant, welcoming community where everyone belongs. Our town is home to 2,200 people and 150 businesses and proudly offers health care, emergency services, K-12 schools and various community groups and programs. 

Redwater boasts an abundance of recreation opportunities, including an outdoor swimming pool, 9-hole golf course, ball diamonds, soccer pitches and playgrounds.  Our state-of-the-art Provident Place multi-use facility houses our indoor ice arena, golf and curling club and a new Community Cultural Centre that features a 450-seat banquet facility complete with a full-service commercial kitchen, dance floor and stage.       

The Redwater Museum hosts the Tourist Information Centre and transports visitors back in time with fascinating and educational displays that capture the story of "When Oil Hit Redwater".  Visit North America's largest free-standing oil derrick, which still stands in the heart of town as a focal point of our community.  

Feeling adventurous?  The Redwater Sandhills Recreation Area, which features one of the largest sand dune fields in the region, is only 5 minutes away.  This 1,810 hectare area provides an ideal destination for both recreational vehicle day use and equestrian or pedestrian use.
