Town of Bon Accord
BUILDING A PROSPEROUS TOMORROW
Bon Accord is the motto of the City of Aberdeen, Scotland – Yes, the Town of Bon Accord is of Scottish decent! It is said to have been the password used at the taking of the Castle in Aberdeen from the English by the Aberdonians. It was often used when given a toast - “Bon Accord’ which means: “Happy to meet, sorry to part, happy to meet again”.
The Town of Bon Accord was established in 1896 by Scottish settlers. In 1964, Bon Accord was incorporated as a Village and by 1979 had achieved Town status. Today the community has a stable population base of over 1550 residents (2006 Federal census).
