St. Albert, located on the northwest border of Edmonton, is Alberta's fifth largest city and has the distinction of being the oldest non-fortified community in the province. St. Albert is a delight to visit and offers a variety of activities to keep the whole family happy.

Red Willow Park offers over 40 km of multi-use trails as well as five major park areas.   The trail system allows you to discover Big Lake and the newly created Lois Hole Provincial Park. This area is home to over 235 species of birds, and offers you an extraordinary opportunity to discover nature. If you enjoy fishing, Lacombe Lake is stocked annually.

Discover St. Albert's rich agricultural history with a visit to St. Albert Grain Elevator Park. Mission Hill depicts the history of St. Albert and is home to Father Lacombe Chapel, a provincial historic site, built in 1861.

A treat to visit twelve months of the year is the St. Albert Botanic Garden, home to the largest natural rose garden in Alberta. In downtown St. Albert, the Arts & Heritage District is a visitor's paradise. Unique shops and great restaurants are nestled amongst restored buildings, murals, and works of art. While downtown you can visit Profiles Public Art Gallery, the Musee Heritage Museum, and the Michif Cultural & Resource Institute.

St. Albert Farmers’ Market

On Saturdays from June 13 - September 26, 2009 don’t miss the St. Albert Farmers’ Market, Western Canada’s largest outdoor market! 250 vendors are spread over 5 city blocks offering fresh fruit, fine woodworking, ripe-off-the vine vegetables, home baking and hand sewn works of art. These are just some of the great finds. Downtown St. Albert is transformed into a unique outdoor social and shopping extravaganza where buskers and musicians create a carnival atmosphere. It is no wonder close to 12,000 people visit each week! For more information contact the Chamber of Commerce.
